WeAquatics has 13+ years of experience, and Founder David Worrell started the program in February 2014. The staff includes experienced and certified instructors, certified Infant Swimming Resource instructors, and instructors certified through Swim Angelfish who are trained to work with individuals with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, autism, and sensory sensitivities. The program offers survival-focused infant swim lessons that teach floating, breathing, and independent water response through short, one-on-one instruction with certified ISR instructors, as well as individualized lessons for beginners through advanced swimmers that focus on stroke fundamentals, breathing, coordination, and confidence in the water. It also offers personalized instruction for swimmers with physical, sensory, cognitive, or developmental differences, with lessons tailored to each swimmer’s needs and pace, and group lessons that introduce swimmers to team dynamics without the full commitment of a swim team.

WeAquatics states that it believes in making swimming fun and that swimming can be an energetic sport or a therapeutic way to wind down after a long day. The program serves Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and offers swim lessons throughout these areas, with updated pool locations throughout the DMV, expert swimming tips and water safety resources, and shared success stories and community milestones. It is rated as one of the safest, most knowledgeable swim programs serving Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and has a 4/5 customer rating.

Parent feedback includes a WeAquatics parent describing an instructor as “so attuned to where the kids are, in addition to being uncommonly kind and knowledgeable,” and noting a child’s progress in a short time. Another adult swimmer, Will Boncher, reports participating in the adult learn to swim program for about five months and learning all of the strokes and diving, and describes Coach BJ and Harper as “adaptive, responsive, and fun to work with,” with positive comments about communication and rescheduling. The Kimmel family shares that WeAquatics has taught their three children, from infant to five years old, over four summers, and describes Founder David Worrell as friendly, gentle, professional, flexible, and providing personal attention and instruction.
