Wekiva Youth Camp is a non-profit, residential nature camp where campers take part in nature study, conservation, protection of our environment, and crafts. The camp offers a unique outdoor living and learning experience in a magical, pristine setting and welcomes campers who are interested in nature and like the outdoors. The program’s motto is “Campers Today, Environmental Leaders Tomorrow.”
• Ages: 8–13 years old
• Schedule: Six one-week sessions during June & July
Wekiva Youth Camp is for 3rd thru 8th Grade youngsters and is sponsored by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (FFGC). The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3). FFGC, a not-for-profit organization, partners with the Florida Parks Service to improve and maintain the facilities. The mission of Wekiva Youth Camp is to instill a love and respect for the “REAL Florida” in youth through nature study, conservation, and protection of the environment for the future of the state and the planet. The camp welcomes campers without regard to race, color, religion, or ethnicity, and Florida residency is not required. Campers enjoy this outdoor living and learning experience with close supervision. Leadership contacts include the Director for counselor employment opportunities, the Chairman for volunteer opportunities and financial assistance, a Volunteer Training contact, a Critter Camp Coordinator for Grades 1–2 Mini-Camp, a Registrar for camper registration and availability, and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Treasurer for donations payable to FFGC–Wekiva Youth Camp.
