artNEST Studios was founded by a father-daughter team, Stephanie Scianna Pitts and Cosimo Scianna. The Delray Beach location was established in 2017, followed by Boca Raton in 2019, and the Clermont and Coral Springs locations in 2024. The Boca studio includes a School Enrichment team led by Colleen Uspensky and supported by 10 other team members, and it is also home to fashionNEST, the first clothing-making workshop artNEST offered. artNEST Delray is described as the home of Messy Play and the birthplace of the SPLASH ROOM. artNEST Delray and Boca Raton have hosted more than 1,000 birthday parties. The leadership team includes Manager Jenna Cox in Delray Beach, Director of Operations Sara Sack in Delray Beach and Boca Raton, Manager Nancy McGowan in Boca Raton, and partners Emily Holtby at artNEST Clermont and Jeanine Athias at artNEST Coral Springs.

The program states that it believes creativity is the foundation of life and that it has developed a method it believes is effective in nurturing children’s natural creativity. Its stated approach centers on building confidence and self-esteem, using a deliberate, science-backed approach with specific language to encourage children to think independently and express unique ideas. Projects and materials are presented intentionally so that children understand how to use them to bring their ideas to life, and the program focuses on the creative process rather than the final product. The mission also emphasizes nurturing internal validation and self-worth, with the stated goal that these life skills will carry over into all aspects of life into adulthood.
