The YMCA of Southwest Florida is a nonprofit organization joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, and it offers a scholarship program. The organization envisions itself, in partnership with others, as an intergenerational community hub with programs, services, and resources available to all persons, regardless of status or ability to pay, and states that YMCAs are charitable organizations that serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes and believe that programs and services should be available to everyone. Camps are progressive so campers can continuously explore new adventures and responsibilities as they grow. The YMCA recognizes the strength of diversity in school-age programs and makes every reasonable accommodation for all children’s success, and very openly welcomes third party paraprofessionals and/or behavioral therapists to accompany children in programs. The YMCA strives to make high-quality programs accessible to all families, regardless of financial situation, and offers scholarship information and applications for eligibility review.
