This will be the 12th annual Florida Winter Cup & Showcase, which started in 2015 and in 2024 hosted over 170 teams. The event offers three levels of competition and attracts teams from the East Coast, Midwest, and Southern United States, as well as international teams. Participating teams have come from multiple states including Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin, along with international teams from the Bahamas, Ecuador, Haiti, South Africa, and the Virgin Islands.

U11–U15 championship brackets include first place team trophies with individual medals and second place individual medals, and U14–U19 Super Groups include first place team trophies and individual medals. All showcase and Super Group games are filmed at no extra cost, with all U14–U19 Super Group games filmed and provided to each team, and teams receive a link to access their games after the event. All registered college coaches are given access to filmed showcase and Super Group games, and college coaches are in attendance for the showcase and Super Groups.

Featured “Game of the Day” matches are live-streamed once per day from Friday through Sunday, and all showcase and Super Group games are filmed by NextPro/Baller TV. Every match has a fourth official, there is space between games to allow on-field warmup, and certified athletic trainers are on site. Referee fees are included in the entry fee, there are multi-team club discounts and priority scheduling for coaches with two teams, and this is a stay-to-play tournament where all non-commuting teams must make hotel accommodations using the tournament housing services and are asked not to call hotels directly but to book through the provided reservation link.

The tournament is directed by Justin McFarland, with Steve Lovgren listed as Owner of SMC, and Ryan Morgan is the contact person at 804-443-7207 for questions. The stated mission is, “We create and deliver world-class youth soccer tournament experiences for all attendees.” Testimonials from other events describe SMC as professional, attentive to detail, and impactful in growing tournaments, including comments from representatives of Gulf Coast Invitational, Piedmont Shootout, and Coulee Cup.
