About
O2B Kids offers preschool, afterschool, summer camp, and membership-based activities that include classes, special events, birthday parties, and playgroups. Children can take part in gymnastics, dance, karate, cheer-leading, yoga, sports, drama, music, art, science, technology, and chess, along with BrighterBabies and other organized activities. The program is based in an O2B Kids Supercenter that includes a 34,000 square-foot SuperCenter with a magical play village for unscripted “funanigans” and an organized calendar of daily classes from the arts and sciences to fitness and fun for specific skill development.

O2B Kids was established in 1998, and the first 34,000 square-foot O2B Kids SuperCenter opened that year. The company celebrated 25 years of business in August 2023. Its history includes opening multiple locations starting in 1998, entering the Jacksonville market in 2006, the Orlando market in 2015, the Minneapolis market in 2021, and the Georgia market in 2021, as well as acquiring and building additional schools in Florida, Georgia, and other states through 2024, with plans to enter North Dakota, South Dakota, and Illinois in 2025. The founders, Andy Sherrard and Danny Stevens, began their journey together in 1992 with a one-year trip around the world.
The stated core purpose of O2B Kids is to help parents grow happy, successful kids, and the program description notes that it opens minds, improves self-confidence, develops social skills, strengthens bodies, helps children discover hidden talents, promotes a passion for discovery, supports friendships, and teaches respect for people, property, and ideas. O2B Kids highlights learning through play, nationally accredited programs, and innovative preschool, afterschool, and membership options, including Pick-Your-Days Care and the “Book it. See it. Love it!” approach. The organization has also created Beekeeper management software, Funnydaffer curriculum software, and Honeycomb communication software, and offers O2B Kids Founders’ Club Scholarships.
O2B Kids reports that every location is nationally accredited or in the process of becoming nationally accredited. The program has received recognition such as The Gainesville Sun Best of Gainesville Best Child Care, multiple Our Town FAVES awards including Favorite Local Preschool, Favorite Local After School Program, and Favorite Local Day Care, the Gator100 award as one of the world’s fastest growing Gator businesses (#21/100), Tampa Bay Times Best of The Best for Best Preschool and Best Youth Education/Recreation, WEDU PBS Kids Be My Neighbor Day Block Party Most Spirited Booth, the Inc. 5000 list (including O2B Early Education ranked No. 2019/5000 and being on the list three years in a row), The Exchange Top 25 Preschool, and Orlando’s Playground Magazine Family Favorite awards for Best Preschool, Best Summer Camp, and Best Indoor Play Place.
O2B Kids runs several community-focused efforts. Its O2B a Kid Again fundraiser, described as a “Grown-up’s Day to Play” and the only day of the year the facility is open only for adults, has raised over $500,000 for public schools through live music, a silent auction, a barbecue dinner, and games. The program also hosts Parent Night Out fundraisers for local charities, schools, and civic organizations, with a portion of each child’s admission donated to the participating group. Staff members provide face-painting and balloon art at community events such as festivals, school carnivals, art shows, and fundraising events, and employees participate in United Way campaigns, volunteer in local schools, and serve on boards of local non-profit organizations. Students at O2B Kids have raised and donated money to organizations including local Humane Societies, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital, UNICEF, and the Red Cross, and they have organized canned food drives, book drives, and teddy bear collections.
