Huntington Learning Center provides individualized tutoring and test prep in-center and online. The program offers K–12 tutoring in math, reading, writing, and science, and test prep for exams including PSAT, ACT, SAT, high school entrance exams, state tests, ASVAB, and GED. Each student completes a comprehensive Academic Evaluation, and the program develops a Personalized Tutoring Plan based on that evaluation, with ongoing feedback and progress reports for parents.

Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center has provided tutoring and test prep programs for nearly five decades. In 1977, Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington opened the first Huntington Learning Center in River Edge, New Jersey, and by 2022 the company had expanded to almost 300 tutoring and test prep locations in the United States. Huntington Learning Center is a family-owned company named after the founding family, with executives deeply involved in day-to-day operations. The organization’s mission is to give every student the best education possible and to build skills, confidence, and motivation through personalized instruction tailored to each student’s needs.
Huntington Learning Center was co-founded by Eileen Huntington and Dr. Raymond Huntington, and their daughter, Anne Huntington Sharma, serves as President and CEO. The program’s certified tutors are experienced in all academic subjects. In 2015, Huntington expanded its tutoring services to students with ADHD through a partnership with a leading expert. Huntington launched HuntingtonHelps LIVE in 2020 as an online tutoring and test prep platform.
Huntington Learning Center earned accreditation by the Middle States Association in 1995. In 2005, Eileen and Ray Huntington received the Education Industry Association’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Award for their “courage, perseverance, and determination to improve educational opportunities for children.” In 2007, Huntington received high accolades from a third-party study of its No Child Left Behind services in Chicago. Reported average tutoring results include improvement of more than 2 grade levels in reading and math, a 5.4+ point increase on ACT scores, and a 229+ point increase on SAT scores.
Huntington established Public Private Partnerships to provide high-dosage tutoring through state scholarship grants in partnership with schools. The organization offers specialized school programs and government-funded high-dosage tutoring that serve schools and juvenile justice systems. Parent testimonials describe positive experiences with tutors, including comments about tutors providing positive reinforcement, test-taking tips and strategies, strong rapport with students, patience, understanding of individual learning styles, and a wide variety of support that focuses on weak areas.
