The camp is led by Nick Baker, Founder and Head Coach of Peak Performance Swim Camp. He coached club swimming for 21 years and has run swim camps exclusively for the past 18 years. He began his coaching career in Canada in 1972 and moved to the United States in 1993 to run a competitive swim camp at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Nick Baker cofounded the original Peak Performance Swim Camp in 1996 and founded the present-day version in 2005. His vision was to create a holistic camp with a focus on developing the whole swimmer from a mental, technical, and physical perspective.

Nick Baker is the author of 10 swimming-related books, including 101 Winning Ways, The Swimming Triangle, In The Know, Un-Limit Yourself!, Are You Worth It?, Mind Body Skill, Liam the Lion, Suzy the Queen of Butterfly, Second Chance Swim Coach, and Hakeem the Sprint Machine. He is also the director of four swimming videos: PEAK Refresher 1.0, PEAK Refresher 2.0, and PEAK OUT.

One swimmer described PEAK as “more than a swim camp” and “a place where confidence grows and belief is born,” and thanked Coach Nick for teaching about all three sides of The Swimming Triangle (Inspired swimmer, Season 2017). A parent from Season 2015 thanked the staff for “another amazing week of camp” and noted their family’s long-term involvement over four years of the Orlando summer camp, a winter camp, and various clinics. Another parent from Season 2015 reported that their son “learned and improved a lot,” saw changes in his strokes, starts, and turns after one week, and shared that he finished 3rd in 50m Free overall on the island of Puerto Rico for his age group one week after camp.
