About

Triple Threat Basketball Academy includes personal training, offensive drills, defensive drills, and conditioning. The program also offers After School Academy classes and summer camp drills that simulate real game action.

• Ages: 9–14 years old
• Schedule: 8 weeks of summer camp from June through August

The After School Academy focuses on teaching athletes how to be an offensive triple threat player, how to guard their opponent on defense, and on staying disciplined and in top basketball shape. Personal training is available for athletes of all ages and experience. After School Academy classes and Triple Threat Basketball Camps are for boys and girls ages 9–14, and to get the most benefit from the After School Academy, athletes should be able to shoot a ball at a regulation-height basketball hoop. In the morning at camp, players work on drills that simulate real game action, including creating their own shot, driving to the basket and scoring in the low post, becoming a better passer and seeing the floor better, improving shot selection and accuracy, and improving their IQ of the game. Families can sign up to receive the first session for free.

Triple Threat Basketball Academy is led by Founder and Head Trainer Coach Orlando “O” McCorvey. Coach McCorvey spent the last two years as an assistant girls coach at Blanche Ely High School and one season before that as an assistant coach at ASA College in Miami. For seven seasons before ASA, he was the varsity boys’ basketball coach at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where he won a District Championship, made an Elite Eight appearance in 2015, had four regional playoff appearances, two appearances in the Big 8, and compiled a record of 78–63. Before becoming head coach at Douglas, he served three seasons as an assistant coach for the Men’s Broward College Seahawks and three years as an assistant at American Heritage Plantation with the boys’ varsity basketball team.
