ArtStage Performing Arts Center offers classes in dance, acting, and voice, including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, acrobatics, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, creative movement, and music theatre. The program also includes a performing group, Creative Kids Club, and a summer camp.

• Schedule: Closed during the PBC School District’s Spring Break week, Thanksgiving Break week, and the week of Christmas and New Year’s, and on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day; open on all teacher work days throughout the school year.

ArtStage has been in operation since 1990 and describes itself as a quality dance facility. The mission states that the program offers students a positive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem and develops creativity through an innovative curriculum, with a goal to inspire creativity in children that will set the stage for future success in all areas of life. ArtStage notes that it was the first to offer triple threat training since 1990 and that it maintains a friendly environment with instruction from highly trained teachers. The program has a non-discrimination policy that includes race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and military status, and it offers the option to try a free class.

The Artistic Director, Linda A. White, is a national award-winning choreographer and teacher who has been certified for more than 40 years by Dance Masters of America and Florida Dance Masters, and she serves as Director and Ballet and Jazz Instructor. Lindsay Carretero, an ArtStage alumna, is an Acting, Musical Theatre, and Adult Jazz Instructor, is a graduate of BAK and Dreyfoos School of the Arts, continued training at Florida State University in the BFA Acting program, has worked internationally as a performer and teacher, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. Heather Connolly, an Acrobatics, Tap, Lyrical, and Creative Kids Club Instructor, has been at ArtStage for 30 years, first as a student and now in her 18th year of teaching, and has studied under professional teachers including Mike Minery and Mia Michaels. Voice Instructor Yakov Hadash studied music, voice, and education at the University of Pittsburgh and Jewish Theological Seminary, teaches music at Meyer Preparatory School, and works as a cantor at Congregation Shaarei Kodesh in Boca Raton. Hip hop instructor Yesenia Mendoza started training in hip hop at age 8, has worked with local upcoming artists, and has participated in special invite-only events for Rick Ross and Venus and Serena Williams. Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Creative Movement Instructor Danielle Taveras has been at ArtStage for 30 years, first as a student and now in her 17th year of teaching, and has studied under professional teachers including Chet Walker and David Howard. ArtStage notes that some instructors are alumni of the program and that a national award-winning choreographer and teacher is on staff.

One former student states that ArtStage prepared them completely for college and a professional career, identifying as a graduate of the B.F.A. musical theater program at Florida State University and an Equity actress. A parent testimonial reports that a child at ArtStage became a well-trained dancer and gained confidence, poise, and many happy memories of friendship and kindness.
