About

Osceola YMCA Learning Center Early Education & School-Age Programs offers swim lessons, organized sports activities such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball, and both free play sessions and engaging play. Children take part in STEAM projects, arts and crafts, literacy activities, hands-on experiments, homework support, and other learning activities.

• Ages: 2–12 years old
• Schedule: 10 hours of care available from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; VPK program is a 540-hour program

The program uses the Frog Street Curriculum, which is designed around early brain development research, and follows a play-based learning philosophy that includes hands-on activities, interactive games, and creative exploration. Early learning and childcare programs at this site include Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) that focuses on pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills, with wrap-around VPK care options before and/or after regular VPK hours. Part-time and full-time care are available, including before and after school care with academic support and recreational activities, and families in the Before & After School program receive priority access to sports and other programming. The program uses Conscious Discipline to support social-emotional development and emphasizes academic readiness, social readiness, independence, communication skills, and partnering with parents, with low teacher/student ratios and class sizes in compliance with DCF regulations.

Staff at Osceola YMCA Learning Center Early Education & School-Age Programs meet all DCF licensing standards and requirements, and 4C School Readiness is accepted. The Learning Center has been providing early education programs for more than a decade and describes itself as much more than a daycare, with healthy beginnings, positive interactions with caring adults, age-appropriate learning activities, and time for fun and making friends. The environment is described as inclusive and welcoming, with a focus on celebrating diversity and promoting inclusivity, and Spanish-speaking team members are on-site. The YMCA’s stated purpose is to improve lives in Central Florida by connecting individuals, families, and communities with opportunities based on Christian values that strengthen spirit, mind, and body, and it maintains partnerships across Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Seminole, Lake, and Marion counties. Families can make electronic payments online.
