The Learning Center has been providing high-quality, affordable early education programs to children for more than a decade. Early learning and childcare programs at this site support brain development, early literacy, and healthy habits, with a focus on kindergarten readiness in the VPK program. The VPK program prepares children for school by enhancing pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills, and wrap-around VPK care is available before and/or after VPK operating hours, with additional wrap care options for extended care before or after regular program hours.

Primary care offers weekly care for preschoolers and school-aged children centered around YMCA core values, with both part-time and full-time care available. The program uses the Frog Street Curriculum, which is designed around the latest scientific early brain development research, and follows a play-based learning philosophy that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Conscious Discipline is used to promote social-emotional development and build strong relationships, and the curriculum focuses on exploration, discovery, character development, and building relationships.

Learning activities include STEAM projects, arts and crafts, literacy activities, and hands-on experiments, and families in the before and after school program receive priority access to sports and other programming. The program emphasizes fostering academic readiness, social readiness, independence, communication skills, and partnering with parents. Staff meet all DCF licensing standards and requirements, class sizes comply with DCF regulations, and low teacher/student ratios are maintained.

Spanish-speaking team members are on-site, and electronic payments are available online. The program offers an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity. The broader Association’s purpose is to improve lives of all in Central Florida by connecting individuals, families, and communities with opportunities based on Christian values that strengthen spirit, mind, and body, and it has a presence and partnerships across Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Seminole, Lake, and Marion counties.
