Kids on the Yard Tutoring & Homeschooling Programs was founded in 2014 by Sarah Katrina Maruani, a former public school teacher, and has been serving families for over 10 years. Every educator in the program is a licensed, state-certified U.S. teacher with real classroom experience, including special education teachers. The program uses research-based methodologies and evidence-based methods such as spaced repetition, metacognitive training, differentiated instruction, and active learning techniques, with data-driven progress tracking and detailed reports. Its KOTY Whole-Student approach to academic success and Whole-Child Philosophy include social-emotional learning integration in every session and support for IEP goals and accommodations, dyslexia and reading challenges, ADHD and executive functioning, autism spectrum disorders, social-emotional development, and sensory processing support.

The program offers a free assessment during a complimentary 20–30 minute session with the Educational Team and follows a Family Partnership Model with regular progress reports, open communication, and parent consultations. Kids on the Yard reports 10,000+ students helped, 98% family or parent satisfaction, 95% grade improvement, and 98% of students seeing measurable grade-level growth within 4–6 months, with a stated 98% success rate and 15+ years of experience in header metrics. Its community involvement includes educational reach across all 50 states, 25+ centers, collaboration with 300+ schools, programs at 200+ community centers, and educational resources in public libraries nationwide, as well as work with nonprofit organizations.

Parent testimonials describe improved grades, higher SAT scores, and college acceptance, along with positive experiences with personalized support and special education tutors. Parents specifically mention improvements in math, science, writing, and overall confidence in schoolwork for elementary, middle, and high school students.
