Kids on the Yard Tutoring & Homeschooling Programs offers expert tutoring and homeschooling support for K–12 students in all subjects and grade levels. The program provides one-on-one personalized instruction with truly personalized learning based on each student, using multi-sensory teaching techniques, social-emotional learning integrated into every lesson, and positive behavioral reinforcement. Kids on the Yard Tutoring & Homeschooling Programs was founded in 2014 by Sarah Katrina Maruani, a former public school teacher, and has been serving families for over 10 years. Every educator in the program is a licensed, state-certified U.S. teacher with real classroom experience, including special education teachers. The program uses research-based methodologies and evidence-based methods such as spaced repetition, metacognitive training, differentiated instruction, and active learning techniques, with data-driven progress tracking and detailed reports. Its KOTY Whole-Student approach to academic success and Whole-Child Philosophy include social-emotional learning integration in every session and support for IEP goals and accommodations, dyslexia and reading challenges, ADHD and executive functioning, autism spectrum disorders, social-emotional development, and sensory processing support.
The program offers a free assessment during a complimentary 20–30 minute session with the Educational Team and follows a Family Partnership Model with regular progress reports, open communication, and parent consultations.
