Maria Verdeja School of the Arts (MVSA Studios) offers classes in Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Contemporary, Voice, Musical Theatre, Tap, and Pointe. The program includes progressive programs in a range of styles and levels, as well as competitive teams. Many students attend from their first steps in pre-k through their final bow as high school seniors.

Maria Verdeja School of the Arts was started in 1987 by Miami City Ballet founding company member Maria Verdeja and is carried on by her daughter Suki Lopez, who is also known as Nina from Sesame Street. MVSA has been training performers since 1987 and has been committed to excellence in dance training for 40 years. The studios often become a second home for students, and many stay for many years. The school provides every student with the opportunity to perform in a full-scale, high-quality production on a professional stage. Private lessons are available as a supplemental training option with a selection of specialty teachers. The stated goal of the program is to build confidence and strive for excellence through positivity and joy. Parents describe the school as having a family atmosphere, experienced staff, and being “our home away from home.”
