About
The Children’s First Preschool offers physical exercises, sports, artistic experiences, musical experiences, and playful experiences as part of its daily activities. Infants at The Children’s First Preschool have a scheduled nap time every day from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
• Ages: 6 weeks–5 years old
• Schedule: School is open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm
The Children’s First Preschool is a preschool for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old with modern facilities and materials, a secured front entry door, a keypad system for access, and security cameras placed strategically throughout the facility. The school uses cameras for quality assurance, sanitizes high touch areas, uses touchless check in, and provides healthy warm breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Security measures include authorized admittance only, photo identification verification, instant electronic records of arrival and departure, and a computerized record of authorized pick-up individuals. The program uses a parent app for daily communication (Brightwheel), has small class sizes, a low teacher to student ratio, and offers a comprehensive bilingual program. Programs are available for Infants, Toddlers, Pre-K2, Pre-K3, Pre-K4, VPK, and Camps, with a focus on social and practical skills, the mind-body connection, and development of gross and fine motor skills, along with artistic, musical, and playful experiences. The school conducts developmental assessments annually and formal assessments quarterly. All students are asked to bring an emergency change of clothes, and families of children who are not yet potty trained provide diapers and wipes as needed.
The Children’s First Preschool Inc. was founded in 1988 and is celebrating over 35 years as an industry-leading childcare facility, having served over 3,000 families in the Miami Dade County community since 1988. The program is family owned and operated, founded by Maureen Samaroo, with her children Gerard and Lisa Samaroo taking over the legacy in 2012 as mission-driven leaders. The Children’s First Preschool is accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and holds a Gold Seal. The mission of The Children’s First Preschool Early Learning Center states that children are viewed as future leaders who are active participants in and shapers of their world, with a focus on fostering a love for learning, encouraging new experiences, and supporting cognitive, social, and emotional growth through child-led and teacher-facilitated learning.
All teachers at The Children’s First Preschool are certified in first-aid and CPR, and every staff member is CPR/First Aid certified. The school describes its staff as experienced, qualified, loving, and highly qualified, and it maintains an open-door policy for parents, with a request that parents stop by the office first.
Parent testimonials describe The Children’s First Preschool as a blessing, with directors and teachers who genuinely care for children and are attentive to children’s needs. Families report that their children have developed since starting daycare, have flourished, made friends, and reached milestones, and that the school has provided care for multiple siblings, including after school care on short notice. One family notes that their child has learned ABCs, counting, and increased vocabulary at the daycare, and another family states that they are satisfied with the service, that their child feels loved, has learned a lot, and has made many friends. The school is described in a testimonial as an asset to the community.
