The non-profit Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center has a mission to elevate the health and wellness of those who enter the facility through inclusive and supportive programs that benefit athletes and community members of all abilities. The center’s history goes further back than 1992, and in 1992 hardship forced the center to sink or swim, when it was previously known as the Rosen YMCA Aquatic Center. Harris Rosen, a local hotelier and avid swimmer, became an activist for the aquatic and fitness center. Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center, Inc. has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center offers free swim lessons to families in the community and is dedicated to helping every child, adolescent, and adult become a confident, capable swimmer. RAFC offers swim lessons through the Every Child a Swimmer organization in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, with lessons available in underserved communities for low-income families, and families can apply for funding from Every Child a Swimmer to participate in group swim lessons at RAFC. Step Into Swim is an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance with a mission to create more swimmers, and at RAFC, Step Into Swim Learn to Swim lessons are available to everyone regardless of household income, with scholarships for Preschool Level 1 and 2 and School Age Level 1 and 2. Any child between the ages of 6 months and 12 years can apply for free Step Into Swim lessons. RAFC notes that swimmers in every phase of life, from Olympic medalists to infants, use the facility, and that swim lessons are available regardless of age, income, or ability, including for adolescents and adults, beginners and experienced swimmers, and for those who prefer private one-on-one instruction. RAFC serves as a supportive and vital member of Orange County by expanding efforts to include community-benefiting events to improve the wellness of the local community, and donations help expand the reach of wellness programs, swimming lessons, and water safety in Orange County communities that require financial assistance, including individuals such as Special Olympics athletes and senior citizens. Families, local community members, and out-of-town visitors are welcome to enjoy the gym, pools, fitness classes, and personal facilities.
