A Kids Gym Learning Academy, which runs Camp Kids Gym, has been inspiring quality learning through play and creative movement since 1998, with over 25 years of family-focused childcare and gym classes and over 150 years of combined teaching experience. A Kids Gym is a licensed facility, and staff members are background-screened and trained in First Aid and CPR, with teachers described as fully trained, dedicated, and passionate about children’s success. The program states the mission “Not Just A Camp… A Learning Adventure! Strong Bodies & Sharp Minds All Summer Long,” and “Where Children Learn To Move And Move To Learn,” and uses a blended curriculum with small class ratios and a daily 30-minute gym class for preschool students.
Camp Kids Gym is part of a program that includes Camp Kids Gym Masterminds for ages 3–6 years, Camp Kids Gym for 1st–5th grade, Camp Masterminds for ages 1–6 years, and Camp AKG for ages 7–12 years, with care for 1s and young 2s available on a monthly basis. Every preschool and afterschool student has a daily gym class, and the facility includes an incredible gym, grassy outdoor spaces, and purpose-built rooms for STEAM, play, art, and games. The program uses the Engage app for regular communication with parents, has a restricted-access entrance and internal cameras monitoring all exits, and offers drop-off and pick-up services for multiple local elementary schools, as well as camp weeks and camp days when school is out in Seminole County.
Campers are expected to bring a labeled water bottle, lunch, a change of clothes, and sunscreen for water days, and closed-toed shoes are required. Camp AKG t-shirts are required for field trips and are available for $14, and yellow Camp Kids Gym shirts cost $17–$20 and must be worn in and out of the water for safety on field trip days. For field trips, campers should bring tennis shoes, lunch, and a water bottle, and swimsuits and towels may be needed on some days; parents only need to pack lunch and a water bottle for daily camp because campers receive healthy snacks twice a day. Tuition for Camp AKG includes three in-town field trips per week, and weekly “big” trips carry an additional fee.
A Kids Gym has been recognized with awards such as Best Private Preschool, Best Summer Camp, Best Afterschool, Best Recreational Gymnastics Classes in Oviedo, Playground Magazine: Family Favorites, and a 100% Kindergarten Readiness Rating. Camps travel throughout Seminole County for field trips. Parent reviews describe children attending for VPK, daycare, afterschool, summer camp, gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, and baby classes, and mention long-term involvement over several years, friendly and professional staff, and enjoyment of the large gym and play-based learning.
