About

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Summer Camp offers activities such as horseback riding (“ride that horse”), climbing (“climb that wall”), target sports (“hit that target”), rowing (“row your way to victory”), swimming, and archery. Campers are grouped with others of similar ages and take part in activities designed for their age group, with younger campers following set schedules and older campers having more flexibility. Campers may choose one cabin mate in the same session, and the cabin mates must mutually select each other.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Overnight campers at Camp Wai Lani have staggered Sunday drop-off times by program level and Saturday pick-up times by program level; day campers can be dropped off between 8–9 a.m. and picked up between 4:30–6 p.m.
• Price: Non-members have an additional $45 fee for camp which includes a Girl Scout membership through September 2026, or an option to pay $91 for an extended Girl Scout membership through September 2027.

Girls entering grades 1–12 in fall 2026 can attend Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Summer Camp, and no prior Girl Scout experience is needed. Non-members can obtain Girl Scout membership through camp fees. Accessibility accommodations can be provided for a range of physical, medical, developmental, dietary, behavioral, or communicative abilities, and many programs may be modified to meet specific camper needs. Campers must be able to function independently in a 6:1 girl-to-adult ratio, and families of campers who use assistive technology such as wheelchairs, crutches, or braces are asked to contact camp directors in advance to plan the experience.

Camp staff receive more than ten days of training, including CPR and First Aid, safety and risk management, emergency response, activity leadership and outdoor skills, and how to support campers’ mental health, including homesickness and bullying. Staff who supervise specialized activities such as swimming and archery have additional training and qualifications. Camp staff are screened through in-depth interviews, multiple reference and background checks, and a drug screening. Salaries for camp staff start at $600 per week, and meals and housing are provided for most staff positions.

Girls who wish to participate in the Camp Leadership Program must apply and interview for the program. CIT 1, CIT 2, and Camp Intern registrations are handled manually by the Customer Care Team and cannot be completed online, and the CIT training is aligned with the CIT Awards that Girl Scouts can earn and display on their uniform. The stated mission of Girl Scout Camp is to be a place to go on adventures, develop new skills, build new relationships, and strengthen existing ones.

Every purchase of Girl Scout Cookies helps Girl Scouts explore new adventures, and all proceeds stay local to help fund girl-led programs, experiences, and learning throughout the year in the community. Through the Gift of Caring program, donated Girl Scout Cookies are provided to recipients such as the military, Feeding Tampa Bay, and other organizations identified as deserving.
