Great Explorations Children’s Museum Programs

Great Explorations Children’s Museum Programs includes Terrific Tots, an interactive 20–35 minute program with music, story time, and hands-on activities. It also offers Great Connections, a monthly sensory friendly program for children with special needs and their families, and Interactive Community Outreaches with hands-on learning experiences that cover STEAM topics.

Programs

• Terrific Tots — children 4 and under · Every Thursday at 10:30 am; members 10:15 am, non-members 10:30 am · Interactive 20–35 minute program with music, story time, and hands-on activities; included with admission; no additional cost to attend.
• Great Connections — children with special needs and their families · 2nd Sunday of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm · Exclusive monthly program; free for special needs families; maximum capacity of 100 guests; sensory friendly event with a cool down room.
• Interactive Community Outreaches — PreK–1st Grade; 2nd-3rd Grade; 4th–5th Grade; Multi-Grade (2nd-5th); Scouts and Homeschool · Customizable hands-on learning experiences for schools, libraries, and special events; educational programming covers STEAM topics.

About the provider

Great Explorations has been operating for over 38 years and says it has held its position for more than three decades. It is the first mid-size children’s museum in the country to achieve AAM accreditation. The museum says it extends quality informal learning opportunities to low-income and at-risk families in the Tampa Bay Area through its Interactive Education Outreach Programs.

Great Connections closes the museum to the general public during the program. Terrific Tots is included with admission and does not require additional cost to attend.
