Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Youth Programs include Summer Camp, Day Camp, Before & After School Care, Licensed Preschool, After School Enrichment, Teen Achievers, teen programs, youth enrichment, adaptive programs, and adult enrichment programs. The program also offers swim lessons and Safety Around Water, gymnastics, group exercise classes, personal and group training, personal training, and Stay & Play. Families have access to features such as a family pool and splash pad, outdoor pool, outdoor track, playground, and racquetball/handball courts.

Licensed Preschool services are offered for ages 2 years old to 5 years old at two family centers. The Tampa YMCA Before & After School Enrichment program is available at 26 Hillsborough County elementary schools and five Y locations. Tampa YMCA members have unlimited access to all 10 family centers and three wellness centers, and members have exclusive access to youth and family programs at YMCA Camp Cristina and the Bob Sierra Youth and Family Center. Each family center has a pool, some locations feature multiple pools, and all locations have new wellness equipment. The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA offers a Cancer Survivorship Program Powered by Moffitt and a Diabetes Prevention program. Plan your workout with a Certified Personal Trainer at the Y.
The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA was founded based on the core character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, and in 1889 the first YMCA facility was built in Tampa as a 50,000-square-foot building on the corner of North Florida Avenue and Zack Street. The mission of the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Tampa Y is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization. The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA brought Tampa its first gymnasium and indoor swimming pool. The Tampa YMCA logo appears on all Tampa Bay Lightning jerseys as part of the “Patch With A Purpose” program. Community support from individuals and local partnerships helps the Y address critical community needs through program scholarships and free offerings, and donations to the Tampa YMCA, including its locations and programs, enable individuals to learn how to swim and be safe around the water, prevent and cope with chronic diseases, and to build self-confidence and social skills. The organization continues its partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning for a second season.
