Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties – Out-of-School Time and Summer Programs offers out-of-school time and summer programs for thousands of youth. The program provides daily programs and services at six Club locations named the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Club, Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club, Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club, Newtown Estates Park Boys & Girls Club, Robert and Joan Lee Boys & Girls Club, and Roy McBean Boys & Girls Club.

Since 1970, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have played an integral role in the Sarasota County community and have been a leader in youth development. The organization provides enriching out-of-school time and summer programs to thousands of youth in Sarasota, Venice, North Port and Arcadia. Its mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The vision is to provide a world-class Club experience that keeps success within reach of every young person who enters, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. The Club has received recognition through a BGCA Safety Award, noted as “Safety in Action: Celebrating Our BGCA Safety Award Win.”
