Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County After-School and Summer Programs

Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County After-School and Summer Programs includes soccer, All-Star Flag Football, basketball, golf, tennis, and Triple Play. Soccer is offered for ages 6 to 15 in the fall with practices held at the club. All-Star Flag Football is a co-ed fall league for 3rd to 8th grade, with 8 weeks of games and practice during Club hours. Basketball is offered in the spring for 2nd to 8th grade, golf is a 4-week late spring and summer S.N.A.G. Program for 4th and 5th graders, and tennis is a 6-week fall program for 4th and 5th grade that ends with a tournament. Triple Play is a fitness and recreation program for ages 6 to 18.

Programs

• Soccer — 6-15 · Fall; practices held at the club
• All-Star Flag Football — 3rd to 8th grade · Fall; 8 weeks; games and practice during Club hours · Co-ed league. Games and practice held at the member’s respective Club, while all games are held at the Vero Club. Jerseys provided and must be purchased through the club.
• Basketball — 2nd to 8th grade · Spring; practice held at the member’s club location · BGC All-Star Basketball League. Co-ed. Jerseys provided; all jerseys must be purchased through the club.
• Golf — 4th and 5th graders · Late spring/summer; 4 weeks; two days a week · S.N.A.G. Program (Starting New At Golf). Partnership with S.N.A.G. Golf and teaches the basics of golf.
• Tennis — 4th & 5th grade · Fall; 6 weeks; ends with a tournament · Partnership with Mardy Fish Children's Foundation. Each club has limited spots; check with the Athletic Director for availability.
• Triple Play — 6-18 · Fitness & Recreation program developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to improve physical activity, nutrition, and healthy relationships.

About the provider

The program serves nearly 1,000 children each year through after-school and summer programming and has three clubhouses in Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Fellsmere. The Board of Directors is led by co-chairmen Bill Allard and Mark Smith, and the Chief Executive Officer is Elizabeth Thomason. Each Club is managed by a full-time Club Director and a full-time Program Director. The mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. BGCIRC is rated Four-Star by Charity Navigator and has a 2025 Platinum Transparency by Candid.

Open to all children in the community between the ages of 6 and 18. Membership is affordable, scholarships are available for financial hardship, and after-school families pay a one-time application fee of $30 plus a monthly fee. 100% and 50% scholarships are available. Each club has limited spots for Tennis. Child safety is fundamental to the mission.
