Campus KidCare

Campus KidCare offers activities such as arts & crafts, music & drama, discovery projects, special interest activities, table games, cup cooking experiences, environmental studies, educational movies, tutoring, sports, games, language skills practice, motor building activities, social exercises, and homework help. Each Campus KidCare site has its own telephone, and the program provides a nutritious snack each afternoon. Staff, volunteers, and specialists work within a staff/child ratio of 1:17, and the program is open to a limited number of children.

• Schedule: KidCare operates during the school-year at participating sites as well as Summer Camp.

SSYFS Campus KidCare is an enrichment program created by the Polk County School System and local child care providers. The program is described as a safe, accessible, affordable, developmentally sound child care program for elementary school children and was developed because parents requested an after school child care activity club. Campus KidCare is described as designed to care for children safely and to give them “that little extra” educationally, socially, culturally, emotionally, and academically.
