The mission of Fernbank Science Center is to provide extraordinary science instruction, exhibits, opportunities and experiences to the DeKalb County School District, the local community and beyond, and it is dedicated to science literacy and life-long science learning for all people and all ages. Fernbank Science Center is part of the DeKalb County School District, and its community-based programming includes exhibits, special programming, and other learning opportunities intended to connect the scientific community with the public to promote a better understanding of science and the natural world. Sensory Science Hour offers a low-sensory planetarium show and calmer exhibits with dimmed lighting, reduced volume, and a relaxed, low-capacity environment, and Cosmic Conversations is a planetarium talk series for curious minds of all ages that requires no prior astronomy experience. The Artemis II Teacher Resource Guide includes standards-aligned STEM activities, videos, and curated resources about returning humans to the Moon.
