Camp Westminster is a non-profit Christian camp that offers overnight or day events, including youth group trips, men’s and women’s retreats, family reunions, and company outings. The camp includes morning memory verses and nightly porch time as part of its programming. It has been providing a summer camp and retreat experience since 1955 and is the result of the vision of Dr. John R. Richardson, who secured the original deed for the camp property in 1953. The mission statement of Camp Westminster is that it exists to promote an exceptional summer camp and retreat experience and to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ to youth and adults. The camp states that it is designed to be affordable for everyone and describes its horseback riding program as taking place at “the BEST BARN EVER.” Throughout the years, members of Westminster Presbyterian Church (P.C.A.) in Atlanta, Georgia have worked and prayed to support and build Camp Westminster, and the camp expresses a desire for the prayer, support, and partnership of Christian men and women to enlarge its work.
The leadership team includes Andy Rogers as Executive Director and Marques Pauley as Program Manager / Program Coordinator. Andy Rogers has a degree in Youth Studies, and Andy and Kathy spent 16 years in pastoral ministry to youth and families before their time at Camp Westminster. Dr. John R. Richardson, who first secured the land for the camp, died in November 1992 at the age of 91.
