About
Rockdale County 4-H offers activities that include Summer Camp, the Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program, the Georgia 4-H Livestock Program, Project Achievement, Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education), and Military Outreach programs. Rockdale County 4-H has a program for youth in kindergarten through 12th grade. Rockdale 4-H offers monthly meetings for all ages, including parents, and 4-H'ers may pick and choose what activities they participate in.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Night meetings from 6:30PM–8:00PM
• Price: There are no dues to participate in 4-H. Special project clubs (horse club, etc.) and activities may have a small charge.
County offices promote and coordinate 4-H summer camp experiences, and counties travel to unique 4-H centers across the state that serve over 8,000 4-H'ers each summer with fun, friendship and adventure. The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program is one of the nation’s largest and oldest providers of local environmental education, serving over 45,000 people annually. The Georgia 4-H Livestock Program gives students the opportunity to practice and acquire new knowledge in the fields of animal science, business, time management and leadership. Project Achievement is a core program that showcases the work and success of 4-H'ers through presentations and portfolios on numerous topics, with members competing at local, district and state levels. Project S.A.F.E. is curriculum-based and is designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities. There are no uniforms for 4-H'ers.
The Rockdale County 4-H leadership team includes Aleshia Lewis, 4-H Youth 4-H Agent; Danielle Crain, 4-H Youth 4-H Program Assistant; Quadarius Hardy, 4-H Youth 4-H Program Assistance; and Quiana Malcome, 4-H Youth 4-H Youth Development Program Assistant. UGA Extension has faculty and staff in every county across the state of Georgia. UGA Extension is a collaborative between Georgia county governments, the USDA, and the University of Georgia's colleges of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences and Family & Consumer Sciences. UGA Extension translates the science of everyday living for families, farmers and communities to foster a healthy and prosperous Georgia.
