About
Camp Invention is a weeklong STEM experience that features fun, hands-on STEM adventures and hands-on challenges. Campers take part in open-ended adventures where they miniaturize top-secret innovations, safeguard their designs using cryptography, and time travel to ensure their ideas are patented and protected. They investigate a series of mischievous pranks, create sleuthing gadgets, collect bits of fluffy fur, reveal a trail of animal tracks, examine suspicious splatters, and forensically analyze the evidence. Campers also dive into hands-on buoyancy experiments, paddle their way through salty challenges, sketch, design and build prototypes, create an innovative billboard boat, build a DIY rocket, launch a mission to transform a faraway planet’s atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem, race Rovers to collect important data and samples, design and build inventions for navigating intense planetary conditions, hatch a mysterious animal egg, encounter a dazzling crystal surprise, and join high-energy morning games that encourage creativity and teamwork.

Camp Invention is led by qualified local educators. The program’s education team collaborates with National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees to create new program curricula each year, and the programs align with state and national education standards. Camp Invention offers a new 2026 program called Spark, and campers team up with real-world inventors through education programs that combine hands-on fun and creativity with science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts. The program has been honoring the spirit of innovation and promoting inventors as role models since 1973, impacting more than 4 million children, students, educators and innovators across the nation, with several programs promoting innovation for all ages in all communities.
Camp Invention operates in partnership with over 1,400 districts nationwide and in Puerto Rico over the past year, and it is founded and supported in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. There are 2,144 philanthropic partners supporting efforts to make STEM education more accessible. Over 1,500 camp programs run nationwide in schools, community centers and other local facilities.
The leadership and education team includes Rachelle Albrechta (Director of Program Development), Jayme Cellitioci (Senior Director of Education), Ashley Giordano (Manager of Program Management), Susie Duchon (Education Specialist), Rachel Lutes (Curriculum Writer), Emily Mitchell (Senior Content Writer), Sara Pompeo (Editor), Maggie Saine (Spanish Services Lead & Education Specialist), and Jennifer Sitton (Director of Science & Product Development).
Parents and caregivers describe a wide range of experiences at Camp Invention. One parent, Sonia S., says, “My daughter came home beaming with excitement, eager to share all the amazing things she was learning. It's been beautiful to see her confidence and love for learning blossom.” Another parent, Katie J., shares, “It was so amazing to see how quiet our son was before the camp and now he wants to try everything and be more involved with friends.” Several parents note their children’s enthusiasm for returning, including Heather D., who says, “My daughter loves this camp. She was so excited to bring her inventions home and teach her little brother about everything she learned. We are already signing up for next year.” A grandparent, Alexa N., reports that a grandchild “gained knowledge, confidence, friends, a sense of cooperative learning, an openness to other's ideas, and an opportunity to have so much fun while learning!” Other parents, including Amanda H., Courtney S., Beverly L., Tara T., Amie J., Jenna M., and Jennifer M., describe their children’s interest in the hands-on activities, their eagerness to attend each day, and their experiences making friends and exploring creativity and innovation at Camp Invention.
