About
Dunwoody Nature Center Camps & Nature Programs offers Summer Camps, School Break Camps, Forest School, Oakwood Forest Preschool, Camp Eagle Nature Program, Early Education Classes, Homeschool Nature Classes, and My Chickadee & Me Nature Classes. The program also includes Scouts and Scouts Programs, School Field Trips, Field Trips, Outreach & Classroom Visits, Milkweed In The Classroom, and Junior Counselors. Additional activities include Adult & Community Programs, Adult Programs, Beekeeping School, a Master Naturalist Adult Education Course, and special events such as Butterflies & Brews, Butterfly Experience, Monarchs and Margaritas, and Perimeter Pumpkin Patch, along with Birthday Parties, Children’s Birthday Parties, Weddings, Venue Rentals, Corporate Volunteering, and Summer Camp 2026 and Island Ford 2026.

Dunwoody Nature Center’s mission is to inspire the love of nature and cultivate environmental understanding and stewardship by conserving and enhancing Dunwoody Park, educating children, families, and adults of all ages about the natural world and their place in it, and motivating environmental awareness and responsible action. The organization is a 501(C)3 non-profit and is entirely community supported. It reports more than 30,000 park visitors annually and serves more than 17,000 people through camps, programs, or education center visitation, with seven grades (K–6) of students from throughout the state attending field study programs and 12 months of scheduled nature classes for children, adult programs, special events, overnight camping programs, field trips for school and scout groups, and outreach programs to area schools. As a nonprofit, it relies on volunteers including individuals, students, corporations, service organizations, and other groups to help with various projects and special events. Unique features include 22 acres of forest, playground, and trails, the Wildcat Creek Learning Lab and boardwalk, a Stream and Wetland Improvement Project, the Perimeter Pumpkin Patch, the Butterfly Experience, and Monarchs & Margaritas, a fundraising evening under the stars with dinner, cocktails, live music, and nature-inspired activities. Monarchs & Margaritas is scheduled for May 2 from 6–9 pm.
