Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier After-School & Summer Programs offers programs in Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. The program provides a fun, safe and encouraging environment for kids and teens to explore new opportunities, focus on learning and reach their full potential to be leaders in the community. It provides a safe environment where kids can go after school and during the summer to connect with others, build skills and confidence and create greater futures.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier has been opening doors to lifelong success since 1954 and was formerly known as the Gainesville-Hall County Boys Club. The organization operates 23 Club Sites and serves over 4,300 youth annually, with more than 1,000 members served daily. More than 200 employees and 400 volunteers provide guidance and education. The mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need the program most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Core beliefs include a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, and hope and opportunity.
Community involvement includes work in Hall, Habersham and Forsyth Counties, with support from community partners such as Milton Martin Toyota. Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier is proud to support Jaemy as she represents the organization and community at the state level and beyond, and 53% of teen Club members volunteer at least once a month. Among teen members, 88% plan to pursue higher education after high school, and 65% of Club members are physically active at least 5 days a week.
Leadership includes CEO Steven Mickens, who has stated that the Youth of the Year program is truly the cornerstone of what the organization does and that it gives young people tools, confidence, and connections. Parent and community feedback includes comments such as “A very special young man! Keep up the great work Messiah,” “He is amazing - loved hearing him at the dinner recently!” and questions about events like a holiday event in downtown Buford.
