Star-C is an Atlanta non-profit organization, founded in 2014, with a mission to reduce transiency in apartment communities near high-need schools. Star-C is a collaborative, nonprofit 501(c)(3) that partners with conscientious landlords who are committed to providing well-maintained, affordable housing for working families, many of whom live near the poverty line. The organization provides affordable apartment community residents with wrap-around educational, wellness, and food security programs, including access to healthcare and wellness services such as regular checkups, dental care, and screening fairs for various health issues, including diabetes. Star-C also provides eviction relief for qualified residents through a scholarship program and offers programs that promote affordable housing and create playgrounds and green spaces in under-resourced communities.

Star-C offers afterschool and summer enrichment programs for children in affordable housing communities in collaboration with local schools at no cost to parents, and Star-C Select programs offer community engagement initiatives and prioritize mental and emotional well-being. The organization reports a combination of stable rent, eviction relief, and wraparound services, including 92,000+ student curriculum hours through free after-school and summer camp programs, 30,000+ snacks and meals distributed to students and their families throughout the year, 5,200 families served through on-site critical wraparound services, 2,600+ backpacks distributed to 53 affordable/workforce housing properties, and 1,295 households assisted with eviction diversion from $4,000,000 donated by the City of Atlanta. Star-C is proud to be in multiple communities across the greater Atlanta area, and the residents and families served live in low-income housing located in under-performing school districts. Star-C partners with organizations to improve access to nutritious food throughout the year and offers tenant-led community gardens for fresh produce to supplement grocery purchases, and by teaming with local healthcare providers, Star-C provides residents access to regular checkups, dental care, and screening fairs for various health issues, including diabetes. One new program, the LITTLE STARS EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM for 2–5 year olds, is offered at Willow Branch Apartments in Clarkston.
