Academy of Ballet offers classes in dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics. The program also includes dance for fitness and classes for baby ballerinas.

Academy of Ballet has been providing training since 1994 and has been described as providing excellent training for over 30 years. Owner and Director Cathleen Cronin-Dunlap opened the Academy of Ballet in 1994 and developed the Academy Performing Ensemble in 1997. The school offers programs for serious dancers, pre-professional dancers, recreational dancers, dance for fitness, and baby ballerinas, with ample opportunity to dance and perform, including participation in the Academy Performing Ensemble for advanced students and productions such as Cinderella, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Wizard of Oz, Beauty Meets Beast, and The Children's Nutcracker.
The faculty at Academy of Ballet has professional backgrounds and/or degrees in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics. Cathleen Cronin-Dunlap holds a B.S. in Education from Georgia State University, was a Dance Major at Virginia Intermont College, and has been a dance educator since 1981. Artist in Residence Angela Harris is a graduate of The Baltimore School for the Arts, trained at Dance Theater of Harlem, School of the Hartford Ballet and Eglevsky Ballet, attended Mercyhurst College and City College of New York earning a B.A. in Journalism while dancing on a full ballet scholarship at Steps on Broadway in NYC, and has received multiple recognitions including being one of five Inaugural National Visiting Fellows at the School of American Ballet, a SDCF Observership, the 2022 Suzi Bass Award for Outstanding Choreography for Song & Dance at the Aurora Theatre, recognition by Atlanta Magazine as one of 2025’s 500 Most Powerful Leaders in Atlanta, the Women Making a Mark Award, the National Emerging Leader Award from Americans for the Arts and American Express, and being a 2021 Women in the Arts and Business Honoree through Synchronicity Theater. Elite Collective Director Nicole Campbell holds a B.S. in Dance from Wayne State University.
Academy of Ballet states that it strives to share a love of dance, provide excellent instruction, and build strong relationships with each of its dancers and their families. The school has been voted Best of Inside Gwinnett and selected for the Norcross Small Business Excellence Award. Academy of Ballet serves dancers in Peachtree Corners, Norcross, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and Roswell, and serves surrounding areas such as Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Roswell, Alpharetta, Duluth, and John’s Creek.
