UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant Education Programs include Friday Feedings and the Seafood Made Simple: Eat Well, Buy Smart webinar. During Friday Feedings, participants watch mealtime in the aquarium as marine educators feed a variety of animals, learn facts about the animals’ diets, behaviors, and feeding techniques, and observe marine life enjoying their meals. The programs also include the UGA Aquarium and the Shellfish Research Lab as part of their educational offerings.

The mission of UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant is improving the environmental, social and economic health of the Georgia coast through research, education and extension. The program reports the phrase “Science Serving Georgia’s Coast,” notes 286 acres of coastal habitat protected, enhanced or restored, 42,388 people engaged through aquarium visits and education programs, and 350 resource managers applying ecosystem-based approaches to managing land and water resources. Brooke Carney has been selected as associate director of research.
