About
WPC Preschool and Before & After School Program includes weekly Chapel and Spanish as part of its regular activities. The program uses Creative Curriculum, and classroom structure is based on the learning center concept as outlined by this curriculum. A variety of resources are used to supplement the academic program.
• Ages: 6 weeks–12 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday with core hours from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM during the school year for children 6 weeks through four years old and during the summer for children up to age 12, with extended care available from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and Before and After Care available for all ages beyond 9:30 AM–1:30 PM
• Price: Illumination Station will be held from June 8–12 from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM and will be $25 per camper
WPC Preschool and Before & After School Program offers Westminster’s full-day and half-day preschool care program for children ages 6 weeks up to 4 years old, including full-day infant care five days a week. The program includes a Before- and After-school Program and serves elementary and 6th grade children in the South Gwinnett community. It transports children to and from Britt Elementary, Brookwood Elementary, and Trip Elementary schools, and it proudly serves Britt Elementary, Brookwood Elementary, and Trip Elementary. Healthy morning and afternoon snacks and a hot lunch are provided. All children are welcome without regard to race, creed, or color. WPC Preschool opens and closes along with Gwinnett County Schools and follows the Gwinnett County School calendar with a few minor exceptions. The program has been in operation since 1992 and is a non-profit outreach ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church (USA).
WPC Preschool and Before & After School Program is staffed by experienced teachers who set a Christian example and take a positive approach to discipline. All teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid and attend continuing education programs throughout the school year. The staff includes qualified personnel with early childhood education training. Leadership contacts include Reverend Allison Per-Lee ([email protected]) and the Office Manager ([email protected]).
The program is a three starred Quality Rated childcare facility, is state licensed, and participates in the Georgia Pre-K Program. The mission of Westminster Presbyterian Church includes recognizing and nurturing the needs of children in the surrounding community and offering a program with high standards of quality early childhood education in a secure, nurturing Christian environment. The mission statement affirms that every child is a gift from God, that enriching experiences at an early age help each child develop full potential, and that the program weaves emotional, cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual development into a tapestry of opportunity for young children to begin their life journeys as beloved children of God.
