About
Shooting Sports Education Center Youth Programs and Summer Camps offer archery programs and firearms programs, including beginner and advanced archery courses and beginner firearms courses. The program also offers private archery lessons, archery certifications, archery competitions, homeschool archery programs, special firearms activities, private firearms lessons, USCCA firearms courses, firearms competitions, and summer camps in archery and firearms programs.
• Schedule: Regular hours Monday–Friday 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., with summer hours Monday–Friday 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and closures on specified holiday breaks.
The Shooting Sports Education Center first opened on October 8, 2015. It provides educational, recreational, and competitive archery and firearms activities and includes a 16 lane, 25 meter Archery Center and a 16 lane, 25 meter Firearms Range. Participants outside of training programs and competition are required to obtain a membership with the center, and membership provides rentals and equipment storage. Online registration for archery and firearms programs is available via a CRI WebTrac account, and annual lane passes are available for purchase. Over one thousand people of all ages and skill levels participate each month, and the center hosts safety and training courses as well as regional and national competitions.
The Shooting Sports Education Center operates in partnership with the Wildlife Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Easton Sports Development Foundation, and the Archery Trade Association. It serves multiple campus clubs, community groups, and archery associations, including Junior Rifle Club, Statesboro High School Rifle Team, Bulloch Academy NASP Archery, Bulloch Academy Shotgun Team, Bulloch County 4-H Archery, Shooting Sports Club, Southern Eagles Archery, Southern Clay Target Team, Georgia Southern University Rifle Team, and Academics Afield – A Collegiate Hunting Community. Archery associations and governing bodies involved include Georgia Archery Association (GAA), Georgia Bowhunters Archery Association (GBAA), Scholastic 3D Archery (S3DA), USA Archery (USAA), National Field Archery Association (NFAA), Archery in Georgia, NASP – State of Georgia, Georgia Association Private & Parochial Schools (GAPPS), and Georgia Independent School Association (GISA). Partners listed for the center include Easton Sports Development Foundation, Georgia Department of Natural Resources – Wildlife Resources Division, Archery Trade Association, City of Statesboro, and Bulloch County Recreation and Parks.
