Oconee County 4-H offers competitions, community service, individual project work, group activities, school meetings, camps, workshops, classes, consultations, certifications, and educator resources. The program holds many events throughout the year and includes a Cloverbuds program for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders.

Oconee County 4-H is an educational youth program focusing on the needs, interests, and concerns of young people. Its stated aim is to help Oconee youth gain a positive self-concept, develop social skills and decision-making abilities, and learn subject knowledge needed for a productive life. 4-H began as corn and tomato clubs and has grown into what is described as the largest youth organization in the world. 4-H members in Oconee County develop leadership and citizenship skills through individual project work, group activities, community service, and school meetings. High School 4-H'ers in Oconee County are described as among the most active and successful in the state.
Oconee County 4-H is the youth division of the UGA Extension program. The leadership team includes Lisa Gipson, 4-H Youth Oconee County 4-H Agent; Annie Stephenson, 4-H Youth Oconee County 4-H Educator; Eliza Everson, 4-H Youth Oconee County 4-H AmeriCorps Member; Patricia McLaughlin, Oconee County Administrative Assistant; and Joel Burnsed, Agriculture & Natural Resources ANR Agent/County Extension Coordinator.
