The program also includes bi-weekly field trips and guest visitors connected to each themed week, with themes such as Journey into Outer Space, Super Hero Training Academy, Teamwork Makes the Dream Work, Wild West Expansion, and Super Spy School. It is a full-day summer camp for children 6–12 years old that blends hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities with daily social-emotional practices.

• Ages: 6–12 years old
• Schedule: 12-week, full-day summer camp running May 27 through August 15, Monday through Friday

Toddle Towne Learning Center – Dynamite Day Camp is available at both the Alton and East Alton Toddle Towne Learning Center locations. Toddle Towne is open year-round, Monday through Friday from 6:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and closes 9 days a year on major holidays. Nutritious meals and snacks are included, and families may register for the whole summer or by week.

Toddle Towne Learning Center was founded in 1967 and is still owned and operated by the same local educators. The staff includes many teachers who have been with the program for more than 20 years. The leadership team includes Executive Director Susan Berry, Samantha Williams as Director of Toddle Towne East Alton Learning Center, and Julie Hawkins as Director of Toddle Towne Alton Learning Center.

The program’s mission states that children play while they learn and learn while they play through an interactive, creative, and well-rounded curriculum that prepares each child for kindergarten and beyond. A custom-designed software program tailored to Toddle Towne’s Basic Skills Curriculum tracks key developmental milestones for each child, and parents receive a monthly personal progress plan detailing their child’s development toward the current theme and skill goal focus. The program includes bi-weekly field trips and guest visitors to connect learning with the community. One testimonial notes that kids thrive when they are encouraged to explore both their curiosity and their feelings, and another states that the Dynamite Day Camp curriculum is designed to inspire young minds with STEAM while supporting emotional and social growth.
