studio nafisa describes itself as a premier academy with STEAM-focused education for kids, with art, design, and technology offerings and a structured proprietary curriculum designed by an artist who is also an engineer. The program states that students learn to connect the dots between visual arts and other STEM disciplines, that critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills are stressed in the teaching approach, and that its math-based proprietary drawing curriculum focuses on practical use. The program states that its offerings help students demonstrate improved performance in math, science, and creative thinking, and that it focuses on helping kids design and prototype products, sketch and visually communicate ideas, innovate solutions, illustrate, create animated movies, and design games. The founder left an IT corporate job to pursue a passion in visual arts, is a strong proponent of STEAM education and design thinking, and the studio has been described in a testimonial as a haven of quiet and creativity in a busy world.

Parent and participant testimonials mention children attending summer, fall, and winter art camps, spring break classes, and birthday parties at studio nafisa, including activities such as canvas painting and quilling. Testimonials describe children talking about design thinking learned at camp, enjoying exposure to different creative mediums, and bringing home artwork they were excited to share, and some reviewers state they would recommend or attend studio nafisa again. The studio also invites families of children who are described as “MAKER” types to subscribe and receive a free project sheet for their child.
