VH Dance Center Summer Camps

VH Dance Center Summer Dance Camps include weekly themed dance camps with activities such as games, crafts, dancing, dress-up, theater games, sea treasure hunts, and creative dance. Campers take part in styles including ballet, jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, hip hop, and creative movement. Each camp includes a small performance or show for families on the final day of camp.

• Ages: 3–9 years old
• Schedule: Six weeks of 3-day camps (Wednesday–Friday), with morning sessions for ages 3–5 from 9:00–10:00 AM and for ages 6–9 from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Price: Ages 3–5: 1 camp $60; 2 camps $120; 3 camps $175; 4 camps $230; 5 camps $285; 6 camps $340. Ages 6–9: 1 camp $90; 2 camps $180; 3 camps $260; 4 camps $345; 5 camps $430; 6 camps $515. Register by April 1st to get a 10% Early Bird discount, and enroll in all 6 camps to receive an additional 10% off.

Themed options include Royal Dance Adventure Camp (June 10–12) inspired by Frozen, Tangled, Encanto, and similar stories; Broadway Bound Dance Camp (June 17–19) with Broadway-style choreography; Mermaids & Ocean Magic Camp (June 24–26) inspired by The Little Mermaid and magical sea creatures; Superheroes & Princess Power Camp (July 8–10); Pop Star Dance Party Camp (July 15–17); and Jungle Adventures Dance Camp (July 22–24). No dance experience is required, and space is limited. New students are offered a free trial class.

VH Dance Center is the school of the Chicago Festival Ballet and is a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. The leadership team includes Kenneth von Heidecke, founder and chief choreographer of Chicago Festival Ballet and School, and Rachel Quinn, the school’s director. The school’s mission states that it specializes in professional ballet training, promotes positive body image and builds self esteem, offers classical ballet and multiple other styles of dance for a well-rounded dance education, and is ideal for dancers looking to pursue a professional career in ballet. Dancers from the school perform in The Nutcracker, spring productions, and community outreach events, sharing the stage with professional artists from Chicago Festival Ballet.
