VH Dance Center Summer Camps are part of VH Dance Center, the school of the Chicago Festival Ballet and a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. The school’s leadership includes Kenneth von Heidecke, founder and chief choreographer of Chicago Festival Ballet and School, and Rachel Quinn, the school’s director. VH Dance Center states that it specializes in professional ballet training, offers classical ballet and multiple other styles of dance, promotes positive body image, builds self esteem, and describes its program as ideal for dancers looking to pursue a professional career in ballet. Dancers from the school perform in The Nutcracker, spring productions, and community outreach events, sharing the stage with professional artists from Chicago Festival Ballet. Families are instructed that campers should wear comfortable clothes, tie back their hair, and wear socks if they do not have dance shoes.
