A Step Above Dance Academy

A Step Above Dance Academy offers Tots & Tip Toes for ages 15 months to 3 years, Juniors for ages 4 to 6, Foundations for age 7 and up, Trainees for beginner to intermediate dancers, Artists (Level II) for intermediate to advanced dancers, Artists (Level III-IV) for intermediate to advanced dancers, and Shooting Stars for dancers with disabilities. It also offers drop-in classes and a 10 Class Summer Punch Card.

About the provider

A Step Above Dance Academy opened in August 2010 and is now in its 15th season. Shannon Clayborn is the CEO/Artistic Director, Annette Lawniczak is the Studio Manager and Instructor, Chloe McCoy is an Instructor and Director of ASA Shooting Stars, and Alanna Kletcke is an Instructor. The academy says it specializes in “Growing Talent with Technique” and focuses on technical excellence, a fun and positive environment, safety, respect, self-confidence, and discipline. It is home to regional and national award-winning choreography, numerous regional and national titles, the 2015 Choreographer of the Year award, National Studio of the Year awards from 2015 through 2019, a 2017 Top National Studio award, and a Grand Champion Title in 2019.

Free class for new dancers. Free trial spots are limited and based on class availability. If a dancer is age 15 mo-9 years, a free trial class can be scheduled right away. Tuition is based on a 40-week season and is payable in 11 equal installments due upon enrollment with annual registration fees and consecutively on the 1st of each month, September-June. Tuition is prorated to a dancer’s start date. 5% discount for tuition paid in full (Foundations Program and above only). Annual registration fee: $65/family, $20/each additional sibling.
