Batavia Youth Baseball

Batavia Youth Baseball offers baseball for children ages 6 to 17. Its travel baseball program is for players in 8U through 15U, and tryouts are open to all Batavia players who reside within BYB's service boundaries or attend a school in Batavia, public or private.

• General schedule: BYB serves over 1,200 players age 6 to 17 with over 90 teams. BYB's travel program tryouts are typically in mid-July and winter practices start up in the beginning of January. The official tryout schedule lists 15U, 8U, 9U, 14U, 11U, 10U, 12U, and 13U tryouts in July.

About the provider

Batavia Youth Baseball was founded in 1956 and is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization. It is governed by a 22-person Board of Directors, including five dedicated positions for the BYB Travel Program. BYB serves over 1,200 players on more than 90 teams, and its travel program has been in existence for more than 25 years.

To play on a BYB team, players must reside within BYB's service boundaries. BYB's travel program tryouts are open to all Batavia players; no invitation necessary. Pre-registration is mandatory for tryouts. BYB coaches are selected based on a thorough interview and evaluation process, reviewed annually, and undergo a criminal background check. Board meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM during the off-season and 8:30 PM during the season May through July. The travel program is for Batavia players only.
