Children’s Dyslexia Center of Metropolitan Chicago

Children’s Dyslexia Center of Metropolitan Chicago offers free one-on-one tutoring for children with dyslexia. The tutoring uses the Orton-Gillingham method and is provided at no charge. The center also offers a free training program for tutors that leads to Orton-Gillingham certification.

About the provider

The center was founded in 1999, after planning and fundraising began in 1996 and construction was completed in January 1999. Its mission is to provide multi-sensory tutorial reading and written language instruction to children with dyslexia and to train tutors in the Orton-Gillingham approach. The center also holds an annual charity 5k walk/run to support free services, and it is supported by Scottish Rite Masons, volunteers, and donations.
