About

Camp Hope is a five day, recreational and residential camp experience for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. During each summer session, Camp Hope accepts around 24 campers, and more than 48 individuals with disabilities participate per year with buddies who serve alongside them.

• Ages: 13–18 years old
• Schedule: Five day, recreational and residential camp sessions that also provide a five-day respite for families

For more than 21 years, Camp Hope has served campers and their families through its four pillars of service: campers, campers’ families, buddies, and the community. The program provides a five-day respite for the families of participating teens and young adults, and states that these five days may be the only respite some families receive all year. High school and college students participate as buddies and group leaders, giving a week of their summer in what Camp Hope describes as complete selfless service. Camp Hope is a non-profit organization funded solely by donors, and all contributions are tax deductible.

Camp Hope’s mission includes promoting community involvement and ecumenical harmony by encouraging participation from various community groups and organizations. Community members can be involved by providing meals, sharing talents, offering services, or volunteering during a camp session, and persons of all faith backgrounds are encouraged to take part.
