• Ages: 6–14 years old

BitSpace states that making is about learning how to use tools and cultivating the mindset to explore, make mistakes, imagine, and build without limits. The program focuses on students and educators embracing experimentation, creativity, and innovation as lifelong skills for the future. BitSpace notes that it equips young makers and educators with the same professional-grade tools and technologies used in the real world, and that it works with both traditional craft and cutting-edge tech. BitSpace reports having more than 6,000 students impacted and a decade of experience translating the maker mindset into classrooms, and it describes itself as a trusted partner for schools and educators.

One parent shared that their child attended a school vacation mini-camp and built a standing desk, and another parent described their child learning how to make warped wood and creating kitchen utensils for the family. A parent of a 9-year-old and 11-year-old said their kids enjoyed activities such as 3D modeling and printing Star Wars figures, building a sled and a catapult, and creating and playing a virtual reality video game, and that the kids wanted to return for more camps. Another parent said this was their family’s second year doing camp at BitSpace and that their pre-teen thought it was “awesome,” mentioning that their child left with a project and skills in building, arts, problem solving, and staying focused in a creative process.
