Sports Play Fun (SPF) Summer Camp offers sports, hands-on experiences, development activities, and other educational and exciting activities. Campers take part in indoor sports, outdoor sports, water fun, and a variety of games throughout the program. Activities use games and fun challenges for learning, and there is a water day on hot summer days.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm, with options for 10 weeks of camp, any 3 weeks, or any 1 week

The camp offers a 1 to 7 counselor-to-camper ratio and uses a Social, Emotional, Athletic Development Curriculum. Camp staff also coach other Chicago Rec Sports (CRS) programs. On rainy days, activities move indoors with no cancellation. Kids are rewarded for good behavior and have a chance to win the camp cup. The program is designed to help children ages 6–13 acclimate themselves to recreational sports and uses sports and play to help address social isolation and issues surrounding a lack of physical and social activities.
The Sports Play Fun (SPF) Summer Camp mission states that its goal is to provide a fun and safe atmosphere that nurtures personal growth through various challenging and fun sports, hands-on experiences, and development activities. The mission also states that the camp looks to create an environment that fosters a strong self-identity, individual expression, teamwork, and genuine respect for others, and that a positive experience at Summer Camp can greatly assist a child’s social, emotional, and athletic development. The Managing Director is Jerusha Richardson.
