Sports Play Fun (SPF) Summer Camp states that its goal is to provide a fun and safe atmosphere that nurtures personal growth through challenging and fun sports, hands-on experiences, and development activities. The mission also states that the camp looks to create an environment that fosters strong self-identity, individual expression, teamwork, and genuine respect for others, and that a positive experience at summer camp can assist a child’s social, emotional, and athletic development. The camp uses a Social, Emotional, Athletic Development Curriculum and has a 1 to 7 counselor-to-camper ratio, and camp staff also coach other Chicago Rec Sports programs. The program notes that there is no cancellation on rainy days because activities move indoors, and it offers pre-sale savings pricing options.

The Managing Director is Jerusha Richardson. Parent testimonials mention that a child enjoys game days and gets to play the whole game, that the CRS coaches are described as nice and energetic, and that parents see players get better each week and look forward to basketball each week.
