Dance Images Summer Camps offers themed sessions where campers spend time learning dances, working on dance technique, and creating Moana themed crafts. Preschool camps include Jungle Safari Camp, Wild West camp, and a magical Moana camp, and each camp ends with a chance for family and friends to view the camper's hard work through a small performance.
• Ages: 3–12 years old
• Schedule: Preschool/kindergarten camps run for one hour per day over 3 days in a row, with Jungle Safari Camp on June 24–26 from 9:30–10:30 a.m., Wild West camp on July 8–10 from 9:30–10:30 a.m., and Moana camp on July 29–31 from 9:30–10:30 a.m.
• Price: Preschool/kindergarten camps (Jungle Safari, Wild West, Moana) cost $35 per camper per camp, or $90 total with a $15 discount when registering for all three; a nonrefundable $15 deposit is due at registration, with the balance due at the event. Camps for dancers ages 7–9 years old cost $25 per camp, with a nonrefundable $5 deposit due at registration and the balance due at the event; payments may be made through Venmo (@danceimagestp) or in person at the studio.
Dance Images Summer Camps is part of Dance Images, which states that it is a learning institution where the art of dance takes on a complementary role to a child's development. Dance Images notes that classes are specifically designed with age appropriate, dance related learning activities and that camps are adjusted to meet the interests of participants by creative groupings and volunteer helpers. Preschool camps invite family and friends to view the camper's hard work at the end of the camp week, and there is a small performance at the end of camp on Thursday for the Wild West and Moana camps. Dance Images is led by Artistic Director Ms. Diane King and reports that it is celebrating over 30 years of dance in the Tinley Park area, having instructed students from toddlers into flourishing young adults for almost 25 years. The studio notes that it is the preferred school of dance in the Tinley Park area and that its award winning competition team, directed by e.D.I.t. staff, is made up of 31 Intensive Dancers. Camps fill up quickly, and an email is sent the week before camp with information about what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect for each camp.
