GUS Dance Camps is part of GUS, the Original Gus Giordano Dance School, which has been family owned since 1953. Executive Director and Artistic Director roles are both held by Amy Paul Giordano. The Gus Legacy Company is composed of professional dancers from across the United States who perform in shows and special events with the shared goal of supporting the Gus Legacy Foundation.
The Gus Legacy Foundation, founded in 2017, provides accessible dance programs to underserved youth and young adults to increase their physical and mental health, confidence, and to gain critical skills that last a lifetime. The foundation supports dancers through Jayden Perkins Memorial Scholarships and by assisting with transportation, housing, attire, and training.
One parent of a 6-year-old dancer described GUS Dance Camp as “AWESOME, FANTASTIC and everything in between,” and noted that the director, Amy, and the staff were organized, friendly, and welcoming. A parent of a 7-year-old dancer shared that their child enjoyed summer camp at GUS enough that they enrolled in a Ballet/Tap class and saw their child becoming more confident in dance and in general. A parent of a 15-year-old dancer reported traveling from Mexico City with six teenagers for camp at GUS and said the dancers felt challenged every day, were proud of the dances they learned in one week, and “highly recommend GUS.”
