At Hoopademix, the stated mission is to make a transformational impact on the lives of youth across the city. The program is part of the HDX Foundation, which has a goal of weeding out insecurities and racism one kid and one family at a time by bringing together children and families from a mix of ethnicities and socioeconomic levels who would not otherwise have met. The program reaches across a wide range of social and economic backgrounds and brings together communities, families, and athletes from across Chicago. It was created with the belief that all players, regardless of their abilities or identities, should feel welcomed and valued on the basketball court, and the organization states that it values diversity and is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive experience for players and their families. The organization states that it is invested in seeing players evolve on and off the basketball court and in helping ensure a sense of belonging and ability to reach their highest potential.

The HDX Foundation reports that at-risk urban youth make up 40% of its programs and that it can sponsor youth at up to 100% of their costs, depending on philanthropic support and donations. The HDX Foundation is described as a 501(c)3 charitable organization with tax-exempt status in the state of Illinois.
