For nearly 70 years, Uniting Voices Chicago has empowered thousands of young people to become global leaders through the unifying power of music. The organization states, “We inspire and change lives.” The nearly 4,000 young people involved in Uniting Voices hail from every Chicago ZIP code. The leadership team includes Ashley Dingle, Senior Manager of Events.

Uniting Voices Chicago has a network of over 50,000 alumni, and alumni-founded Uniting Voices Lexington launched in 2023 as the first program site outside of Chicago. Uniting Voices singers have performed in a variety of high-profile settings, including a performance of Janet Jackson's “Rhythm Nation” that was voted Best Original Digital Content (Dance) in Chicago Reader's Best of Chicago issue 2022. Singers from Voice of Chicago performed a new arrangement of “America the Beautiful” at the NASCAR Chicago Street Race in 2024. Singers from Voice of Chicago performed “MIENTRAS ME CURO DEL CORA” with Karol G on Saturday Night Live. Uniting Voices singers performed “Together” on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Inauguration Day 2021. Uniting Voices Chicago helped Djo close out his set at Lollapalooza 2025, and Uniting Voices joined Karol G at Lollapalooza as she became the first-ever Latin female artist to headline the festival in Chicago.

A Voice of Chicago singer, Jamion Cotten, shared, “I love Uniting Voices because it's helped me grow over the past eight years by building my own confidence, friendships and community. When I see the amount of love and unity we have in Uniting Voices, it helps me understand that I can make a difference.” Uniting Voices alum Sima Cunningham said, “It's really special to return as an alum to this organization, because I know that it was such a big part of my life as a young person and it opened up opportunities and experiences that I could have never had any other way. So to return and have that feeling again of voices at my back is really meaningful to me.”
