Uniting Voices Chicago After-school Programs focus on music and performing arts. The program is part of Uniting Voices Chicago, which has engaged nearly 4,000 young people who sing in 36 languages across genres from classical to gospel to hip hop. After-school programs include world-class instruction, sessions with international artists, and touring opportunities.

Formerly known as Chicago Children's Choir, Uniting Voices Chicago is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2026–27. For 70 years, its mission has been to empower thousands of young people to become global leaders through the unifying power of music. The organization has a network of over 50,000 alumni who advance opportunities across many professional fields including neuroscience, engineering, government policy, education, business leadership, impact investing, entertainment, and technology. The nearly 4,000 young people involved in Uniting Voices hail from every Chicago ZIP code and sing in 36 languages across genres from classical to gospel to hip hop.
After-school participants are part of a broader community whose singers and alumni have performed “Glory” with John Legend and Common at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center. Singers from Voice of Chicago have performed a new arrangement of “America the Beautiful” to kick off the Grant Park 220 at the NASCAR Chicago Street Race in 2024, “MIENTRAS ME CURO DEL CORA” with Karol G on Saturday Night Live, and the song “Together” on Inauguration Day 2021 with Peter CottonTale, Chance the Rapper, Cynthia Erivo, CYSO and Kofi Lost. Uniting Voices Chicago also helped Djo close out his set at Lollapalooza 2025 with a performance of “Back On You.” Uniting Voices Lexington, launched in 2023, is a vocal ensemble for diverse youth ages 12–18 across the city and the wider Bluegrass region.
The Senior Manager of Events is Ashley Dingle. One singer, Jamion Cotten from Voice of Chicago, shared that Uniting Voices has helped him grow over eight years by building his confidence, friendships, and community, and that seeing the love and unity in Uniting Voices helps him understand that he can make a difference. Alum Sima Cunningham described returning to the organization as special because it was a big part of her life as a young person and opened up opportunities and experiences she could not have had any other way, and she described returning as having the feeling again of “voices at my back.”
