Summer Camps is offered by McHenry County Conservation District. The program follows the district’s policies for age eligibility, financial assistance, and refunds for camp reservations.
• Schedule: Applications for the 2026 summer camp season will be available online.
• Price: Scholarships for McHenry County families are made available through the contribution of the McHenry County Conservation Foundation.
McHenry County Conservation District states that it exists to preserve, restore and manage natural areas and open spaces for their intrinsic value and for the benefits to present and future generations. Scholarships for McHenry County families are made available through the generous contribution of the McHenry County Conservation Foundation. Children must be within three months of turning the appropriate age in order to enroll in summer camps, and age exceptions greater than three months are not considered until May 1, 2026, with final decisions at the discretion of the camp directors. Applications for financial assistance are processed on a first come, first served basis, and applicants are notified of eligibility within 5 business days. To receive a refund for a camp reservation, cancellations must be submitted at least 10 business days before the camp start date, and after that deadline refunds are only issued if McHenry County Conservation District cancels the program or can fill the spot from the waitlist.
