Summer Day Camp includes weekly field trips, swim lessons, boating, fishing, free swim, arts and crafts, special events, small group games, art projects, and scavenger hikes. All camps will start at Main Beach each morning, and campers take part in activities that also focus on building friendships. Each week, campers have 3 days of swim lessons, except in the Teen camp.

The mission of Summer Day Camp is to help campers build confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility, to build a sense of community and social skills, and to give campers opportunities they would not get at home, such as small group games, art projects, scavenger hikes, and friendships. The Crystal Lake Park District's Day Camp program follows the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and American Camping Association (ACA) guidelines.
