Summer Day Camp includes weekly field trips, swim lessons, boating, fishing, free swim, arts & crafts, special events, small group games, art projects, and scavenger hikes. Campers take part in activities that also focus on building friendships. All camps will start at Main Beach each morning.
• Schedule: Each week campers will experience a field trip, swim lessons, boating, fishing, free swim, arts & crafts, special events and more.
The Crystal Lake Park District's Day Camp program follows the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and American Camping Association (ACA) guidelines. All camps, except Teen, include 3 days of swim lessons each week. Procedures such as dismissal, e-newsletters, and EPACT (emergency forms) stay the same from camp to camp. Camp types listed for Summer Day Camp are Pee Wee, Mini Camp, Junior Camp, Senior Camp, Teen Camp, Jr Leaders and CIT. The Crystal Lake Park District has received International Camping Fellowship Milestone Recognition. The stated goals of Summer Day Camp are to help campers build confidence, independence, and a sense of responsibility, to build a sense of community and social skills, and to give campers opportunities they would not get at home, such as small group games, art projects, scavenger hikes, and friendships. The 2026 Day Camp Guide is available on February 9, 2026.
